I Love Bears!
I have a large collection of bears myself and I know how it feels to look at a bear and fall in love with it. When you have to buy a bear because you can't leave it in the shop.
Hi, I am Susan Pryce and I am a thirty eight year old
mother to 2 boys and a girl and I have a husband called Phil.
I live in the Northwest of England on the Welsh Border, near
to the city of Chester.
I am a hairdresser by trade and I have loved craft from when I was little. I used to make tapestries and cross stitched pictures and rugs. More recently my hobbies have been card making, scrapbooking and altering items.
I started making bears because I wanted something to do in my spare time. I had collected beanies and bears for a long time and I thought I would have a go at making a bear. That was in October 2000. I used patterns out of magazines to start with and some fake fur.
My boys have the first two bears I made. They were very primitive though with ears that were lop-sided and the eyes didn't match. After a lot of reading about the subject and lots of really good advise from other bear makers Scruffie Bears were born. I now design all of my own bears.
